We had sooooo much snow this weekend. Since the snow blower did NOT work Friday night, we had to dig ourselves and our vehicles into the parking area and into the cottage. there was a few feet of snow. Yikes!!!
Saturday am, Sean and I rode to Lawton for Breakfast. The trails were fairly empty at 9am, but rough!!!!! We added gas in Lawton...approx. 10 gallons total. Trails were poorly marked and there were a lot of blind turns. Saw a groomer on the way home.
Saturday afternoon, Mike and Sean rode south toward Cassopolis ( these trails are not marked on the Fishweb website). According to our NEW trail maps there isn't a whole along these trails. Trail conditions have not improved.
Snow Blower started working again! Whoo Hoooo
Saturday PM, Sean and I rode to Decatur. These trails had more straight aways. Decatur is much closer than Lawton. Not a bad ride. Got Gas in Decatur... approx 8 gallons.
Sunday PM, Sean and I rode to Lawton again. Trails are the worst I've seen out here(Not quite on par with Grayling trails last year but close). We saw a couple with a kid who had to have some one go get their trailer to pick them up. The trails were really busy!!!
Monday AM, Sean and I rode to Decatur for breakfast. Nice ride, trails must have gotten groomed.
Overall, we had a great weekend for snowmobiling. We put over 100 miles this past weekend. Both sleds are over their 10 hours break in and are already getting checked out.
Looks like we might be riding with Larry this upcoming weekend. And we are preparing for the big weekend at the end of the month!!!! It's getting closer!
Lessons learned:
Speed is crucial when encountering whoopdees.
Maintain speed in fresh powder or start carrying a shovel.
Need to figure out a better way to connect camera to helmet. ( no pictures:( )
Not so angry with Scott over last years snowmobiling trip. :)
Still not ready to go up ditch where Dan dumped me last year.
Welcome to the Michigan Trail Runners blog. We are a group of friends from various cities in Michigan who have started riding together. Enjoy!

Diet MTR
I would like to introduce the New Diet MTR cola. “Why Diet?” Well that is because if you are apart of the MTR team then you are already an adrenaline fueled junky and the sugar would just cancel out the process because of the sometimes crash in energy at the end of the day. So a healthy active portion of Mud, Snow and Sand to refresh you in any season, temperature or altitude is what sets this high octane drink apart of the others. So get your six pack of Diet MTR today!
**Warning**
Pregnant women, the elderly, and children should avoid prolonged exposure to Diet MTR cola.
**Caution**
Diet MTR cola may suddenly burst and or explode. Diet MTR cola contains a healthy active portion of Mud, Snow and Sand, which if exposed due to rupture should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at. Do not use Diet MTR as a chaser.
Discontinue consumption of Diet MTR if any of the following occurs
* Itching * Vertigo * Dizziness * Tingling in extremities * Loss of balance or coordination * Slurred speech * Temporary blindness * Profuse Sweating * An erection lasting more then six hours * Heart palpitations.
!!!If Diet MTR begins to smoke, get away immediately. Seek shelter and cover head!!!
Diet MTR is made by the same company that produces Happy Fun Ball.

Fw: RE: Silver Lake Oct. 3rd 4th 5th
| From: Larry Pilon Subject: RE: Silver Lake Oct. 3rd 4th 5th Yo Silver Lake crew, Due to over whelming demand we are being forced to schedule a trip to our favorite sand box. The new crew members only had a taste of cat box size sand pits and now want more! So far the first weekend of October looks good for half of us. Calling all Silver Lake riding veterans Chad , Greg, and Fred, please let me know first if you are interested. Second, see if the first weekend of October is open for you. Third, what the hell will Greg be riding?!?!? Chad can you also forward the map to our new camp ground? The new camp ground is very close to a pond where you can fish if you would like. That is where Chad caught Greg, but he was too small and had to throw him back in. He maybe a keeper this year! Also feel free to invite anyone that maybe interested. Atlanta, MI - July 26th Recap Day 1
We drove up Friday night and stayed here:

We woke up bright and early the next day (had a great breakfast in town - forgot the name, Nettie's place??)
We started out at the DNR parking but decided to look for something more in the middle of the trails:

We drove on some ATV routes as well as some really tight trails. We had a few mishaps in the trails:

Here's were we stopped for lunch:
Sean and Scott were practicing their wheelies!! That is Sean on his back:
Jana practicing her power slides:
